Barakaldo´s wharves for ore shipment and loading docks have finally been included in the Basque Cultural Heritage Inventory as Monumental Complex*.

This Resolution constitutes an appropriate measure to protect the scarce and important elements of our mining and maritime history in a location characterized by a strong and expressive industrial image. In particular, the outstanding English shipping staith of Orconera Iron Ore dating from 1877, is the only existing wooden shipping staith together with that of Dunston in Gateshead, and represents a symbol of Barakaldo and an international heritage that will celebrate its 140^th anniversary in 2017.

Les quais minéraliers et baies de chargement de Barakaldo ont enfin été inclus dans l´Inventaire de Patrimoine Culturel Basque sous la catégorie d´Ensemble Monumental*.

Il s´agit d´une résolution juste pour protéger les rares et importants éléments de notre passé minier et portuaire dans une localisation avec une image industrielle forte et expressive. En particulier, l´exceptionnel quai de chargement anglais de Orconera Iron Ore de 1877, le seul qui existe en bois avec celui de Dunston en Gateshead et qui Fêtera en 2017 ses 140 ans, représente un symbole de Barakaldo et un patrimoine qui dépasse les frontières.

Noues voulons partager cette magnifique nouvelle avec ceux qui apprécient notre histoire industrielle et son patrimoine.
